Our people participate in formal training with respect to
accounting, auditing and tax competencies, including industry specific topics
and the latest Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), Governmental
Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
accounting and reporting topics and auditing requirements set forth by the
AICPA, the Government Auditing Standards issued by the Comptroller
General of the United States and the PCAOB.
All of our professional personnel receive training in two
distinct areas. First, for technical updates such as those mentioned above, on
an annual basis our firm hosts all firm professionals in a continuing
professional education series, called CPE Week. For approximately four days each
spring, our firm closes to offer a wide variety of in-house and external
instructor-led courses designed to address the varying needs of our
professionals from our audit, tax and accounting services groups. CPE Week
generally satisfies at least half of the required annual continuing education.
Business consulting and in-house technical training are provided for staff
working in both the Accounting & Auditing and Tax departments, along with
additional opportunities for specialized training and continuing education
courses.
Our CRI Leadership Academy, also held annually, is designed
to provide training on the “soft skills” of business leadership, such as
communication, presentation, coaching, mentoring and leadership to promote
effective interaction with clients and colleagues. We believe that building our
next generation of leaders is key to our success and essential for high quality
client service. We take this commitment so seriously that both seasoned partners
and identified rising stars instruct these courses for 2-3 days per year.
We are committed to both the Annual CPE Week and CRI Leadership Academy
because of their proven success in equipping our professionals and staff to both
better serve our clients and communities.
